As you may have heard by now, the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities were announced a few weeks ago.
This issue affects virtually all digital devices from cell phones, to laptops, to servers including the infrastructure Salesforce.com runs on.
As of now, Salesforce reports there have been no indications or attempts to target Salesforce instances with newly discovered vulnerabilities. They are working with their vendors to update their infrastructure as security patches become available. We are confident Salesforce will be able to work with their vendors to get this fixed as quickly as possible.
In the mean time, please update your personal equipment. Microsoft has stated that they will be releasing a patch for Windows 10 computers on January 9th and Apple has recently released a series of updates to protect against Spectre and Meltdown as well.
As your partner, we are serious about your data and security. We want you to know that Paladin is in close communication with Salesforce and monitoring the situation. We will notify you of any updates that we hear, and of course, you are free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
